Didn't find a lot of whole bottles but I'm happy with what we found today....A few good bottles, a few mystery items and some pretty cool toys!!!

These are a few of the bottles we brought home....

Any ideas on what may have caused these indents in the back of the bottle?  And what was it for and how old would an one think?

Nice digs there!
I'm pretty sure those two indent lines are repairs to the bottle from when it was made. I think if I remember, they would bring a bottle out of the mold, and there was a whole at a thin spot in the bottle, and they would pinch it together with a tool of some sort. I call them "pinch marks" but thats not what they are called. They are really interesting features of old bottles. Thanks for the pics

very nice finds indeed, bottles range from the 1890s to the 30s  did you dig in the floor or around the walls?
