Got out last Friday the 2nd for a quick dig in Baltimore. I thought the pictures were pretty nice so I figured I’d write a short story. We have been digging a row of abandoned 1860s houses some have had double barrel lined pits and others deep brickliners. We don’t dig the brickliners in the area because they are a waste of time. The Barrels are usually pretty cleaned out but sometimes you get a loaded one. To put it bluntly this one wasn’t loaded. We got a few common blob beers at about 5 feet and in the bottom was a 6 inch 1870s layer with one nice local amber strap flask embossed Farbers Balto and a few Saratoga dressing polish bottles and some broken local pharmacy’s. Overall not a great hole but went pretty quickly. Sorry for no bottle pictures. But trust me you not missing much. Opening up the hole Digger Matt and his shirt lol This one had 3 feet of collapsed concrete in the top of it. Getting near bottom Dougs in the pit. Tripod and falling down house in the background Filled in and ready to call it an early day.
