I REALLY THINK THIS PERSON IS NUTS.. IN MY COLLECTION OF FOSSILS THERE ARE ONLY 89 PIECES . AND THE FROGS I'VE SEEN HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THAT CONDITION. MAKES YOU WONDER ABOUT PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN TENN. OR THE PERSON WHO SAYS THEY FOUND IT.

Well I have a turtle, three snakes and a lizard.  But they were made of wax by my daughter and then molded with a ceramic mixture, the wax melted out and the voided cavity filled by ceramic slurry that was poured into the cavity, the outside mold broken and the products removed.  This is similar to how she also made several bronze sculptures, like an Elk, an Indian on a horse with a spear, and several other figurines - most of which I bought from her to encourage her creativity.  RED Matthews

THE PERSON WHO SAYS THEY FOUND IT

You never know what you can find (including garden center diplays). Here's an odd little story. Once while diving near a pier, I feel a bumpy ridged hard object. It is 3/4 burried and covered in weeds. I dig it up and it is an old beat up alligator made of poured concrete with rebar in it to hold it together. My guess is that the thing originally adorned a dock or was placed on shore but it hadn't aged well. Rather than struggle with hauling the thing away, somebody pushed it off the dock into the lake. Mind you, this thing is about four feet long and at least 100 pounds. I lifted out of the water and put it on the dock - which wasn't easy. I've always wondered what the people thought when they saw it. Were they freaked out? Did they have any guess as to how it could have happened? I never heard, though because I don't know the people and no one has ever asked me about it. But, if I was to say that that thinig was a genuine fossil (as found) who could argue?

I love that the seller says it was found in my neck of the woods in 1921...ROFL

I once saw a guy on e-bay selling a rock that he thought was left here by aliens because it had two metal prongs and a wire in it after he had it x-rayed, turned out it was a heat rock for a snake or a lizard in a aquarium....might be the same idiot.....

Idiot is kinda harsh don't you think. Let's try Ignoragmis Moronica with a touch of extra special on the side. He'll probably sell you his tin foil hat for the right price and you can make one for your froggy fossil too. To me it looks more like a horny toad. That would explain why he's so stiff.
