Well one of the all time greatest fakes has made it to eBay. This one could easily fool anyone without the Mckearin refference book. The seller also says the bottle is from Kennsington,to further confuse the potential buyer. The original G-II 46 is listed in only aqua. The description from Mckearin on the original  made G-II is as follows:

Designs on oval panels. Small American Eagle, head turned to right, body and wings in parallel position diagonally. Small shield with 4 vertical bars and 3 stars diagonally across lower part of eagle's body.Only eagle's right leg showing and large olive branch in talons.

Cornucopia filled with produce, tip coiled to left  similar to that on  Nos. 43 and 44.

Half-pint 11Vertically ribbed (3) Plain Lip, Pontil Mark ,Aquamarine in color,Unknown  V. R. No. 28 GIll  Scarce
At the end of his description the ominus words as follows:

NOTE: Dangerous imatations of this flask, some of them in diffrent colors have been made.

Well this bright green one listed here is one of those dangerous IMITATIONS http://cgi.ebay.com/G-11-46-VR-28-American-Eagle-Flask-Kensington-Glass-/140470452479?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b4b100ff

It is easy to see this flask was made in a mold which was made from a plaster of paris impression. This is why it lacks a good clean strike. Please do not bid on this unless you are into all of the Eagle Flasks as this is the infamous bottle Helen and George Mckearin warn us about.

Another dead giveaway is the top of the lip straight cut with a glass cutter.

I saw repro at first glance. the glass, neck and lip were all quite obvious to me and I'm an amateur. Always good to get a nice heads up though. Thanks

I have no problem with the repros as long as they're stated as that. Many people can fall for the stuff on ebay and your "fakes kick" is a public service and much appreciated. I mean that and meant no disrespect. I hope you didn't take it that way.
Eric

I was just thinking of changing it again. Maybe I'll leave it a bit longer. Thanks, Eric
