My dad got the G.W./Gen. Taylor flask in a box of stuff in an auction, I bought the blue flask from an antique shop for $5. Anyone know anything about these?

Sorry, definately repro. Still better that $5 though. People love the amethyst. it looks like they ground out the bottom to fake an IP but that screams Clevenger at me.

How can you tell? Educate me!!

I paid $5 for the blue one.....I don't know what the Taylor flask cost, it was in a crate of other stuff purchased at auction.

The lip is way to straight. That was before I saw the seam going all the way up and then fired off. The indent on the bottom is nowhere near what an original would have. Seeing the lip reminds me more of Empire than Clevenger but I'll stick with the Clev.
The next is probably a lestoil from the 70's. It looks machine made. it could be an Ezra Brooks.
Here's a starter link for repro's courtest of Digger (John) Odell.

The Washington-Taylor is a reproduction for sure but I think that the blue eagle flask is better described as a fantasy bottle in that there has not been an attempt made to replicate a period flask.  It is, as correctly stated by Eric, simply a decorative flask from the 1970s.

Kblue, take a gander at this site. It will show you different lip and base styles on original bottles, and many other wonders. Best info site on the net!
