Getting down wet and dirty - 7/15/2008 9:40:32 AM    arthur   Posts: 476 Joined: 5/15/2008 From: new river valley VA/WVA border Status: offline Someone emailed me and ask are the bottles dirty since I collect them in a water environment?  Collecting bottles is part of the fun for me. I mean going out and searching, diving and digging-yes digging even underwater.  After the bottles are brought home they have to be cleaned sometimes hours, white vinegar baking soda glass cleaner elbow grease. and if you are fortunate to have a tumbler that also, but the end results for me is enjoying what I do.  I have been working in a site now for days. I have managed to bring up over 200 bottles so far with more to come.  Here are what the bottles look like when you first find them buried under sand and muck 25 feet deep underwater in a dump that is now underwater fresh water mussels and all.
