A friend of mine dug several of these glass items from a dump near Kennebunk.Me. They are very thin and about 2 in. across. There are ridges on both top and bottom and appear to have been pressed in a mold. It appears that an iron pin was attached to the center at one time. I have heard they may have been decorations for lace curtains in some of the old mansions nearby. I wonder if they were fancy hat pins or even hair pins, but it seems strange that several identical ones would be thrown away at the same place. Anyone have any ideas about this one? Always like odd things found while digging. Thanks.

Cliff

Good guess Cliff. I have a friend who use to collect those. The pin went through a bow that was used to tie back heavy curtins. they were very popular down here and some were very colorful.
