I've seen green Bromos before but this is the greenest one I've ever seen, a unique shade that's for sure!

This is one of the wierdest bromos I've ever seen.  Looks fairly recent and the opening in the top is at least 3/16 " larger that every other 2&1/2" that I have. (Does not say Toronto but Canadian made maybe?)
btw
It was beautiful weather for Heritage Festival today and my displays went over very well.  I'll show the Stonetown one tomorrow.

Hey Steve,

Boy that is Bromolific! Is that photo pretty true to it's color? The later ones look more olivine. How did you come upon it?

That is just too cool Steve!...I have a couple of bluish green, trying to be teal versions, but have never seen such color on a bromo...Thanks for posting that. Any chance you could share some pics of your stonetown exhibit? I'd love to see it.

Wicked cool Bromo, Steve. I have not seen another one even close to that color. Perhaps they made an experimental olive-flavored seltzer for those who didn't like the original fizz .  ~Jim

It goes to show you that no matter how common something is there can always been a rare variant.

Thanks guys, I think olive green is the consensus, definitely an unlisted color.

That's a pretty one!  The color did raise a little flag for me.  I've seen teal Rumford's Chemical Works bottles nuked, which turns them olive green.  You'd never know they were nuked unless the seller told you.  Hopefully yours is the real deal.

Yeah, I also wondered about that, seems unlikely someone would nuke a teal bromo but ya never know.  The size and form of this one are odd too though, never seen a teal one or another quite like it. No one seems to know what you get when cobalt is nuked.

Well I hate to say it but this one was nuked!  RIbottleguy nailed it.  I won't be reporting this as a new color to Doc for the next edition of the Baltimore bottle book.  I asked on here a couple months ago if anybody knew what color you get when you nuke cobalt and even sent a couple PM's but nobody seemed to know.  Well now you are forewarned that one color you might get is olive green. The guy that originally sold it is a nice guy and said he usually tags his enhanced bottles but maybe he forgot this one but he remembers "making" it.  The guy I bought it from on ebay didn't know it was nuked either so we both were fooled.  The maker said some stay cobalt and some turn olive green but he did not remember if there were any other colors.  I should have known better it sort of has a little bit of that nuked jar look.  I'm still going to keep it but would not have bid as much if I had known, chalk it up as a lesson learned!

Will you report it with the info? It would still be a good addition of note.

Just to be clear this bottle wasnt simply exposed to short wave UV light typically used to turn bottles purple.
It was likely exposed to neutron radiation from a reactor or sterilization system. Similar to the effect that turns coke bottles that ugly brown color. Fortunatly not many people have access to these systems.

I don't want to mention his name (Joel) goes by the ebay seller name of mistyriverseve
and is a forum member
without me asking, insisted on giving me a lot of my money back when he found out about this bottle.  Now I get to keep an example, he made some money and all is good.  Class act Joel!  Thanks again.
