Sometime I don't like reading the manuals, I'm more hands on/visual. i don't know why every company doesn't just make a DVD demo to watch how to use their product. Good luck I did love the color in the big box of item you had. I'm sure you'll figure it out and if not most of those camera do just fine set in auto mode but, I sure you want macro for  pics and that's just one turn of the wheel usually. you can even go to circuit city web site click on there cameras and it will enlarge it and them click on demo maybe that will help you a little. I've been doing that all week. I've got my every on a couple of Canon right now. Once you figure one out they are all about the same.
