Here is a posting of my latest dig Friday, with Gatorman and friend Rusty who is an avid metal detecting advocate. Because they were sifting, they didn't find a bunch of bottles. They did each find a few rings, a few bottles, 10 or so marbles a piece, trinkets, buttons, tokens, and coins. I am mainly into bottles so, I thats what I am going for. If I find a few extra things in my loose diggings, that's just a bonus. Yes, I probably threw out who know's what in each shovel full, that's just easy dirt for them to get to. I actually brought the camera to the sight. All bottles are blown in mold except for the HORLICK'S and the THOMPSON'S. Here's the breakdown for the day I had.
.) Beautiful 12 oz. drugstore bottle in hints of cobalt
.) THE OWL / COMMERCE and ERVAY / 4oz. drugstore bottle
.) Sort of roof panelled medicine, clear, DIOVIBURNIA (on each roof panel) DIOS CHEMICAL CO. on front near base, 10 FLD. OZS. on back near base.
.) F. BROWN'S ESSENCE OF JAMAICA GINGER PHILADa clear
.) PARISIAN SAGE/ A HAIR TONIC / GIROUX MFG CO. / BUFFALO, clear
.) DABROOK'S TALCUM POWDER DETROIT, clear oval jar
.) 2- SLOAN'S N&B LINIMENT/ DR. E.S. SLOAN/ BOSTON, 1- clear, 1- amethyst
.) 3- PRICE'S DELICIOUS FLAVORING EXTRACTS all blown in mold.
.) a round bottom soda bottle (no embossing)
10) aqua HORLICK'S MALTED MILK/ RACINE, WIS. USA / SLOUGH BUCKS, ENGLAND, jar
.) amethyst THOMPSON'S jar. I would guess malted milk.
.) 2 neat, crude food product bottles. 1- pickle or horse radish, 1- tapered neck ribbed
.) nice amber whiskey flask
.) 3- unembossed BIM cobalt bottles. Bases 1-A14, 2-A24. These are pretty common.
.) small BIM LAMBERT LISTERINE bottle
.) tiny COLGATE & CO bottle
.) INGRAM'S MILKWEED CREAM milkglass jar
.) assortment of 25 or so glass stoppers. 2 neat shaped, 1 rectangle with fancy T
.) 6 clay marbles
.) a doll leg
.) glass bulldog head. Rusty has found a whole one in the same dump.
.) one shotgun shell

Here is the 2nd bottle. A Dr. SBJ SIEGERT bottle or something like that. It is listed in the bitters category in some books, but I believe it might not be. A few extras. The first 2 bottles, I didn't keep.

Finally got to the bottom. Took about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get 6-7 ft. down. Notice the lighter colored clay at the bottom.

Nice haul and great pix--especially the three bottles on top of each other, still in the wall--really, THAT would be a great picture for the cover of a bottledigging book!
