Need help to ID this bottle I found. I'm not sure about the date and maker. It has an purple tint to it and a rasied X on the base.

That was a 1900 era utility bottle, and the original paper label would have described the contents very well.. utility bottles were made by glass houses and sold in bulk quantity to those who filled them with contents, slapped a label on them, and marketed them..
