I just found this blue variant of F. Brown's Ess. Of Jamaica Ginger, or commonly "jake". This stuff was like rat poison for alcoholics. After they got in trouble for basically selling rubbing alcohol to people as a "drink", they faked out inspectors by "increasing the apparent volume of ginger solids" in the essence using a chemical compound which would later turn out to be an early plastic compound. People went blind, lost the ability to hold still and eventually died from chemical poisoning. But who can argue against cheap booze right? I turn at 5th and Chestnut everyday, and I think on old F. Brown as I do. Thanks for looking, anyone else have a "jake" in a color besides clear? ---Joe

I dug a Sanford's Jamaica Ginger in aqua. That's pretty horrible what happened to people who used it, yuck!
