Hood's Sarsaparilla Pill Label...SARSATABS ? - 6/27/2008 8:11:50 PM    Calico   Posts: 64 Joined: 4/27/2006 Status: offline The bottle itself isn't unusual, just a round, clear BIM about 4" high. I love the label though. I have the common Hood's Sarsarparilla panel in aqua, both large and small but I've never seen the label for the pills called SARSATABS.. I think they were chocolate coated ? Are there a lot of these around ? TIA ! Attachment (1) Post #: 1

I'll post it so you can read it when it charges. There is one part that say's "Sarsatabs are of a laxative tendency, but when not sufficiently so, Hood's Vegetable Pills should be taken also. These are the only pills that should be taken with Sarsatabs." I love how they advertise for the other on the Saratabs directions. (in reply to glass man) Post #: 3

Here is his reply: "Hi,I assume that your bottle is about 3.7" H and similar to one of the images I have attached. The only real difference being the price of a dollar on the label. I have only seen the 3.7" H glass bottle although I do have a dollar sized wooden bottle plus a small wooden bottle sample. I bought the bottle with the box in 2001 for $20 while the other cost $23 in 1997. They date between 1906 and 1922. They do not show up often but often enough for the number of collectors since the price does not seem high. Enjoy,Cliff Hoyt" I think he got a wonderful deal in the 90's on his sets. I love bottles with labels and boxes intact and I have a few extracts that have the labels and boxes but they are common.Quick question about the dates.My bottle looks like it was manufactured in the 1890's or so. I assume they would use the older bottles through the early 1900's until supplies ran out ? I may list this on Ebay in the near future in case anyone is interested. (in reply to capsoda) Post #: 15
