Dove up in Eastport, Maine Friday, Saturday and Sunday and came away with some nice bottles.

This first one is about 10 inches tall and heavy as sin, especially when filled with mud and stones.  I believe it is a ginger beer bottle from the late 1800's.  I found it on my second dive on Friday about five or so minutes in to the dive it was mostly buried with just the side showing out of the mud.  Not wanting to lose it I had to lug it and my camera around the entire dive.  I suppose I could have put it in a safe place and retrieved it but the viz wasn't super and I could have spent too much time looking for it again.

The next three were all together no more than a foot or so apart with just a bit of glass showing above the sediment.

Hi adshepard,

Welcome to the forums. Great bottle finds. Think that F&B one is Fairbanks and Beard from Boston. I dug a Stoneware one a while back. Nice finds.

Hey adshepard -

Those are some sweet bottles!  Eastport goes back aways history wise, that's a great place to go diving.

The Ingalls Bros stoneware bottle is from Portland, ME, probably form the 1880s.

There are five stoneware bottles from Eastport all with different names debossed in them, maybe you'll get lucky next time and find one of those - they can be worth some big bucks.

Later - Sam

That F & B bottle looks to have an iron pontil.
