Since I have moved I have been all over out here trying to find a nice dump somewhere with hours of hiking only producing shards. My luck certainly changed recently but as of yet there are no bottles but loads of porcelain insulators. This site appears to be fill dirt with many different types of insulators mixed in but in a random way and not concentrated in one area making it rather difficult to dig anywhere. The majority are broken but I picked up the best ones off of the surface. To find any more here I will have to dig but I am not sure how to approach it because extensive digging is not possible. This first picture shows a general view of the area where the insulators are mixed in with some bricks and very little glass to be found.

Here are most of the finds from that day, lots of variety and most if not all are made by Universal Clay Products. Quite a few of these have factory defects which leads me to believe that is why they ended up here plus the factory was near this site. I tried finding some info on some of these with little luck especially in regard to the specific company. I found some insulators with factory defects on Ebay but otherwise I don't have much to go by as far as value so any input is appreciated. Also there is one large and two smaller solid porcelain balls in this picture and I really would like to know what those might be.

I was quite happy after a few trips to the fill dirt but then I was driving down the road and noticed something unusual. In the half demolished ruins of an old factory building I thought I spied amber bottles pouring out of the foundation. I stopped to take a look and to my amazement I saw literally thousands of insulators used to fill a foundation with concrete poured over the top of it all. I think someone has been taking the bricks from the side which has exposed all the junk. Most of these are chipped and broken of course but some searching turned up some interesting ones. I have barely scratched the surface, this foundation is huge and filled with who knows what else. I'm hoping some bottles will come out of this mix but so far just insulators and rocks. I'll post some more pics when I get some of them cleaned up.

Holy Crap!! I'd sign up for an insulator forum and see what those guys have to say about what you have there. And I thought I was finding a lot of insulators. Swiz

Maybe that's what I ought to do with all the old insulators I've accumulated over the years.  Fill a hole with them and pour concrete over it.

Naw, Sell them for a quarter each and buy more concrete. Advertise them as lawn borders and yard decorations. Swiz

Swizzle: I was looking for some insulator forums but the ones I found seem to be either Canadian or just for glass. Do you have a good site that you would recommend? I know a lot of the styles I'm finding are common but have yet to find any from Universal Clay Products anywhere online.

Jay: I'm sure if you have too many insulators somebody would be glad to have them. Well maybe you should throw the Hemingray 42s in a hole with some concrete but you could probably even get a $1 each for those as yard decor.
