Is it a crack or flaw? - 12/25/2007 2:04:16 PM    808 50th State   Posts: 68 Joined: 5/14/2007 Status: offline I noticed that on some of the Hutchinson bottles, there seems to be a crack going across the funnel of the bottle, my question is, is it a crack or flaw? RE: Is it a crack or flaw? - 12/25/2007 2:40:25 PM    tigue710 Posts: 1969 Joined: 7/11/2007 From: connecticut Status: offline I know the mark you are talking of.  While on some examples there could be a crack in the bottle, many hutchs have a ring around the out side of the lip, (right were the mark is in your picture) which was created the blower when he tooled the lip.  Often you can feel the edge from the bottom of it.  It is just how it was made, the extra glass was pushed down by the tool, leaving that edge.  It is not a flaw, unless you have a crack, which you can see all the way through the bottle. _____________________________ aint no bottles in there....
