I am baffled by what this could be, any thoughts or help would be great. I plan on listing it on e-bay unless someone here wants it but I have no idea how to write it up......Inside lip is ground.....Jim

I have a 30s  Candy Container similar to that piece?-----is it hollow all the way?.   Fred.

Only hollow to 4 inches Fred, very heavy piece too......

The only logical use for that piece I can see is an inkwell.  But I don't know for sure.
