Saw this bottle at a neighbor's house and snapped a photo.  Is this worth anything?

$5-$10 The stopper doesn't look right. The top of the stopper should be flush with the lip of the bottle.

I believe you are right Lobey, the stopper does not look to be the correct one, looks like the jar is made for a glasss stopper though.

I am new to these forums and to bottle collecting.  I am curious whether the residue inside a poison bottle is a concern?  Should it be cleaned out and how?

Yeah Bott, anything found in bottles should be treated with care. Start off with warm soapy water filled about half way. Put your thumb over the opening and give it a shake. Rinse and repeat a few times. If the stuff is stubborn fill it to the top with bleach, use a funnel to keep it off the label. Just let it sit a day or three and pour it out with the label facing up.

Nice Muriatic acid Chemist bottle!! Definately not the original stopper. Personally I would love to get that one.
