Picked this up for a dollar today, onluy so I could find out f it is a pepsi? I believe it is a 1967, but there is no embossment of any label to look at.

I think it is a Pepsi Joel. I have one of these as well somewhere , and I do not understand why the logo is not present, I have never known of any that had paper labels in this style. Do you reckon it was a goof at the factory when they were being made?

Lou,
I reckon it was a machine bottle, as it has a round notch in the bottom.

it was an ACL pepsi (some of their products such as "patio" also came in the twist bottle) without the label from the 60s and 70s

I have never seen a swirl Pepsi like this with a paper label, and Lord knows, I drank from enough of them years ago, as I am sure that Joel did as well. Or at least I am thinking we are roughly the same age . Usually, if there was a label worn off, a Person can still see where it had been. Like Joel's bottle, mine is clean and slick, with not sign of label wear.

Come to think of it Spence, I do not remember ever seeing a Patio in a twist bottle either, seems to me from what I can remember they were more like diamond checked.

it does indeed seem to be a 60's acl pepsi with the acl label missing, the bottle matches the one on my shelf. it appears to be hazy where the label would have been. i have heard of acl bottle labels falling off when dug up after a peroid of time. all the patio bottles i've seen had a linked diamond pattern in either clear or green.

You are correct about the Patio's John. As for the Pepsi, Mine looks like it was never in the ground, and there is not sign at all of a label, the finish is just as slick and clean as can be.

Well, I know what running out of money is about, and sorry you are in a slump. As for you Dad making you move into it as is, I would have to ask, what the devil did you do to tick him off, and in turn move you out !!

No one minds being corrected, as no one knows it all (well, maybe one), and you guys do it well.  You always consider each others feelings and that isn't a bad thing.

We all make mistakes! Hell, if we didn't travel a few wrong roads, we wouldn't find where were going to. It isn't what you say , it is how you say it that counts.

I will consider this a Pepsi bottle, from the 60's. Thanks, guys.

Joel

I did not think he was mad at you at all Spence, just meant it in fun. As for the unfinished parts, keep saving your nickels and dimes, and buy a little material at a time till you get it done.

That is not a bad thing either. It is also hard on your dad. Even harder on your mother. My wife has been going through the empty nest syndrome. I am trying to get her more and more into bottles.
