Since I've been seeing all of the Patterson NJ items Jim has been collecting and sharing with us, I've started looking for local items myself. Not only bottle go withs, but anything that has my hometown name on it.
So this weekend, in between ball games and work, I stopped at two garage sales and scored a dose cup from a local druggists who was in business during the late 1800's and a complimentary plate from a jeweler who lost it all in a St Patties Day fire in 1903. The plate is cool, has an Indian Chief, Broken Arm something, Soiux Chief.
There's a pic of the dose cup, Furbeck and Van Auken Druggist, Gloversville, NY. Pic of the plate will come later.

But really, I want to thank Jim, epackage, for kickin' me back to reality and seeing all the items that are out there besides just bottles. And I'm sure my wife will be even happier now that I'll be bringing home more goodies.

Mark

If Jim ever finds everything, I'll invite him up my way to help me find what I'm looking for. He seems to be either very resourceful or just plain luckier than hell. Or perhaps alot of both. My hats off to him and his devotion towards his collection.

He is kind of like my brother...when something happened my mom would begin calling his name.

Here's the plate I spoke of in the begining. Good go with, now to find a bottle from the same druggist.

epackage will never be able to collect all attributed to paterson, nj. there is just way to much here. it was actually the first industrialized city in the us. way too much history to mention. first submarine, colt firearms, 2nd highest waterfall on east coast next to niagra falls(used for generating electricity for all the silk mills), locomotives...the list goes on and on. i probably have 40 hutches from paterson..all different. greg
