Hi Jeff,

The bottle is a stoneware Mineral Water bottle and dates from around 1890- 1900 and is from Germany. This style of bottle is very common and was also used by the Dutch to hold Gin

Hi Trog thanks for your reply.

I am sorry I should have detailed my question a little better on my post.

This bottle held Kümmel (Caraway seed) Schnaps. It is known as "Gilka Kaiser Kümmel". The Kaiser (Emperor) name was because it was well liked and served to the German Royalty. The company was started in 1836 in Berlin and finally sold out to Underberg(blah!! nasty stuff) in 1972.

What I cant find is any info on the bottles. Like I was saying above I have seen a couple of the glass but nothing on the stoneware. I cant even find I picture of one. I have found numerous sites with the family history and their dealings with royalty and all about the schnapps and liquor but NO BOTTLE INFO darnet. So I was hoping someone had seen one or done some research and found something.

Thanks again
