Does anyone know where this brewer hailed from? Trying to place an origin and date to this bottle, thanks in advance!

ill bring it home today and get some pics, its the average size for these, the top was nowhere to be found.  It came out of a gold rush era privy, early 1850's, although there was some later early 1860's era bottles in the fill.  This was sitting in the transition line from fill to fluff, so it could be either...  not much came out whole except the usual op slicks and one dip mold black glass ale... Did find a sapphire blue iron pontil mineral water 6 inches from the surface next to the hole though!

Hey Matt,

I don't know if this is your guy, but there was one J.H. Mathewson running round the top of Mt. Davidson with the Virginia City Masonic guys one day in September 1875.

He's listed amongst the "Visiting Brethren."

the name rings a bell but I can't place it... It looks eastern but I'm hoping it might be a semi local bottle... Here's another pic of the whole bottle, or what is left of it...
