Hi, I dug some lids the other day and thought I would take them along home with me. My question is do people buy lids? I looked them up in the red book and seems like they go to pretty good jars. Here is some information on them.
I got 2 .that say Whitall's Patent, June 18th 1861. The red book says that is from #'s 2179-2188 and most of them seem like pretty good jars!  Then I got another that says Patented Nov 29th 1870 in bigger circle with Patented Feb 25 1873. shows #'s 2809 and 3022-3025 again seem like pretty good jars!

Yes, people will search for the correct lid to go with their jar.
I have sold lids and enclosures for fruit jars on eBay. Some will command a decent price, also.

Hello Mike

The top two lids look like Millville lids and the bottom lid looks like a Winslows lid.

Yes, jar collectors are always looking for lids.  Got anymore?   Paul

I have a box the size of a case of oil full of different lids. I don't think that there is anything great! I remember as a kid I dug a Lafayette lid, I used to have bottle sales on the side of the road and a guy came along and offered me $25.00 for it and that was back in the 70's  So I have kind of held on to them when I find one that looks a bit different!  Mike
