I just joined and am looking forward to the coming newsletters, updates, etc. I joined online and got a package in a matter of days from Joan Cabaniss. I didn't get a membership card, though. But, I received my first newsletter and some cool skull stickers.....there's some good articles, this one is on Ammonias.

Nice Paul, I thought of that (and many other clubs) myself but I'm more into the research part and wasn't sure if it was more about the bottles than the poisons.
I just added a few pharmacist books to my collection. I didn't get them yet but one is supposed to be stuff found in old diaries from 1824-1933, a collection of accounts and memories.
I wish I had more room for a bottle collection but the books let me dream of a time when I can (but fit more easily on a shelf now).

I just joined also.
I talked to Terry Kuhn yesterday afternoon and I have the 2 workbooks on the way. Terry is a very nice person to talk to.
I hope to have the workbooks by the time they have the Jackson, MS bottle show. It would be nice to go to the show educated on the value of poisons.

Mike

The first 2 workbooks are good for IDing only.  They were released around 2000, so none of the prices are applicable for todays market.  Even the APBCA book is off for today as it was put together in '05 before the economy busted and the prices of everything, including bottles, fell through the floor.  The newsletters keep you updated to what bottles have sold in the last few months on ebay and the glass auctions...  But a good rule of thumb, the cheap bottles will always be cheap and prices rarely change.  Anything over $100 you can bet sell for 40-65% of their historical highs.

FYI for both of you.... there is a 3rd wookbook, which continues to expand as time goes on.  It was never published.  It was handed over to the club to share with members.  Joan can hook you up with that as well.  Just let her know you would like the 3rd wookbook and the updates up to last newsletter.

Another thing.  Keep your newsletters.  They are a good resource.  When new bottles are discovered, you will get a drawing and such in the newsletter.  You can take that out and put it with your other reference materials.  3 ring binder works well.
