Hi I just found this buried in the backyard and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it, like how old it is etc. Is it rubbish? Should I throw it away?!

The writing says 'The Property of William R Warner & Co Pty Ltd' and on the bottom it looks like it says IS 645.

Thanks.

Here is some history for you, William R. Warner was a pharmacist from Philadelphia. He earned a fortune by inventing a sugar coating for pills for kids that didn't want to take their medicine. In 1886 he formed William R. Warner & Company and began manufacturing various drugs. Although the Warner Co. merged a couple times the name was kept and lingered all the way until the year 2000 when they became part of the largest drug manufacturer in the world, Pfizer. Good find!

Here is a timeline for you. (I colored the names incase it's confusing!)

1849 Charles Pfizer and Charles Erhart found Charles Pfizer & Company.

1870s Dr. Joseph Lawrence develops the original formula for Listerine.

1881 Lawrence sells his formula to Jordan Wheat Lambert, who founds Lambert Pharmacal Company.

1886 William R. Warner founds William R. Warner & Co.

1916 Warner & Co. acquires Richard Hudnut Company, a cosmetics firm.

1955 Warner-Hudnut merges with Lambert Pharmacal to form Warner-Lambert Company.

2000 Pfizer acquires Warner-Lambert.
