Hi everyone, haven't posted in awhile. Buffalo's waterfront is finally being developed, been doing some digging around. This is about half the finds, trying to clean everything up as I go along.

Any idea what this is? There are 2 pat' dates on the base. The outer circle on the base PAT' U.S. and ENGLAND SEPT. 5, 1899. The inner circle CANADA MAY 23, 1899.

Looks like some sort of fly trap, or a battery part maybe...I'm sure someone on here can tell you what it really is

Rick sorry about your dig... Wish I would have taken pics of the waterfront, bottles everywhere!

Lobey, thanks for your ideas on what that weird jar is. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on it. If not, maybe its just a good conversation piece.

Thanks    Lisa

I did find some info on Plutos Water, thats Pluto on the bottom of the bottle.

In 1897, Indianapolis Mayor Thomas Taggart bought the land (French
Lick Springs Hotel)  and rebuilt a luxurious hotel and spa. He bottled
“Pluto Water” (named for the Greek god of the underworld) and
distributed it nationally with the slogan, “When nature won’t, Pluto
will.” Pluto water was said to have laxative qualities.

Rick this wasnt a dump, it's the waterfront project, lol heavy machinery doing most of the digging for me!  I'm just raking the piles and finding. Been there every night, after the work day's done.

OK let's talk about the weird jar....Lobey said fly trap or battery part maybe.....What's your guess?  I'm clueless aka blondie

It's cool that you have the machines working for you. We are waiting for the backhoe to dig up the dump we have been digging for a while.New homes are going up there.

I have one of these funny jars also, different embossing "I think".  When I get home from work today I'll look for it and see.
