Did one dive off the old steamship pier site in Eastport, Maine this past weekend and retrieved one very nice Hutch.  Also found a nice small jam crock with an embossed lighthouse on the bottom from W.P. Hartley - Liverpool & London.  Here is the Hutch:

I believe that F. Malloch refers to Franklin Malloch who was born in Eastport in 1857 and moved away in 1926.

I only did one dive as the root canal I had done just days before made diving a bit painful.

That is really clean...I always thought bottles from the ocean would be really scratched up or covered in coral...how did you find it?

Oh it had/has some light scratching but it was put through two days of tumbling.  Most of the bottles I find up there have been buried in mud and silt so they coralline algae (purple encrustation) never gets attached.  This bottle was really lightly scrated compared to most i find as it was in some very heavy mud ith no rocks around it.

That one looks different in the neck and lip than most of the hutchinson bottles, I have 2 or 3 of the Frank Mallock blob top beers in clear glass. Didn't really plan it but have started to have accumulated a collection of Eastport bottles ( 8-10) as theyhave found their way across the bay where I am.

I'd love to see those Eastport bottles.  I've found many bottles off Eastport but few are from Eastport.  Most of the ones I have originate from Boston.

Where are you located?
