I HAVE A FRUIT JAR THAT I NEED MORE INFO ON,IT SAYS MASON'S IMPROVED ON THE FRONT,IT HAS CFJ. ON THE BACK,THE TOP HAS THREADS DOWN INTO THE JAR AND HAS AN AREA THATS RAISED ABOVE THAT ,ABOUT A QUARTER INCH AND HAS A GROUND SURFACE,COULD BE A WAX SEAL?? NEED MORE INFO AND PRICE INFO,THIS IS AQUA,LOOKS LIKE A 335 ON BOTTOM.THE EMBOSSING ON THIS IS VERY HEAVY.  THANKS RALPH

Hi Ralph,
Your jar takes a glass lid that says MASON'S IMPROVED and then a patent date. The lid is held in place by a metal band that engages the threads on the jar. If your jar is the quart size it would be worth about $10. with the lid and band. I would suggest the reference book: RED BOOK No. 10. It gives very good information on all of the jars known as of the date of publication. The RED BOOK also gives information on the known reproductions.
