Found that link after searching for years! Just curious as to what its worth? I dug it out at about 4 feet deep. I was digging a grave for a movie set up in st. joseph missouri on the property of an old victorian home built in the early 1800's. And what is its technical name...if it has one?

Hey Al,

Welcome, and thanks for bringing the coiled Rouge bottom. I don't believe that is the "technical" term. Be sure to click the Embed picture button, if you want your pixels to show up on the page.

This is the first of these, I've seen. That was an interesting, and esoteric Website.

Look HERE.

I'm imagining it was the base of a pasteboard container. It is kinda reverse pot lidish. I'd repost this, or ask one of the excellent moderators to move it down several flights to the Pot Lids Discussion.

Dorin's packaging seems to have undergone considerable, and decorative reinvention.

"ARNOLD FRANCIS R Merchant 23 Waverley place New York City residence 121 West 74th street Senior member of the firm of Francis R Arnold & Co Director Consolidated Fire Works Co of America Member City Harvard and Barnard Clubs and Century Association." From.

"Arnold Francis R imp 45 Park pl h 882 Fifth av." 1872 Trow's Directory.

The Mystery of Dorothy Arnold.

More mystery.

A Whole Lotta Vanished.
