Marbles galore - 5/6/2008 10:16:40 PM    Digswithstick Posts: 529 Joined: 3/6/2008 From: north west pa Status: offline Hey all went to faithfull again to do some clean up and take some pics got bored did some exploring found a spot about 200 yards away some glass showin ended up findin new marble record for me 22!  This is foundation at top of main dump. The best ones are the painted chinas which are the ones with the concentric lines painted on them. Some can be worth $100 or more depending on the size and design on them. The larger ones in excess of 1" in diameter are the better ones. I have been finding them in 1860s era privies. Great finds. You need to really check out that site closely and dig and sift as well as metal detect. (in reply to Digswithstick) Post #: 15

That site looks like one that will produce for many years. I would systematically start digging and sifting and if done properly you wouldn't need a metal detector. Good luck. Would like to let you know I have stopped losing my marbles(chuckin' em') and am gathering quite a collection. If I can keep the boy from playing with them, even better.
