Hiya

I am a new member and cannot find anywhere or anyone to help me.

I recently uncovered a glass bottle in my back garden and having been on the local radio to discover it’s history, I am still no better off.

I have googled the words below and the closest I have come up with is the “Provincial Mineral Water Co” in St. Mary’s Road, Belfast in 1910 owned by a William Scott Atkinson

It is made of thick white glass with just a tint of green but I think this is because the glass is so thick, has a bulbous head and embossed with the words

“Provincial.M.W.Co

Trade

P M

Mark

Nenagh”

It is 9” tall with the numbers 3366 on the bottom and has a diameter of 2”.  There is a another mark on the bottom like a thick upside down Y.   Nenagh is in Co Tipperary and is c. 10 miles from the Silvermines mountains where mining was active in the 1900’s

Could this bottle have been manufactured in Northern Ireland?  Was there a bottle company in Co Tipperary?  Does the M.W. stand for Mineral Water?  Is P M a trade mark?  Could this bottle be more than 100 years old?

I have sent many emails to many different people asking for help but have received no replies.  I am trying to get hold of a digital camera to send pictures.  If you are interested in helping I will definitely get pictures.

It does sound like it could be a mineral water bottle.  AS soon as you get a picture, that will help with dating the bottle, etc.  I am sure someone else on the website will know exactly what it is. It may take a few days for someone to respond-so keep checking back.
Congrats on the find!  Wish I could dig up bottles out of my garden. I would probably work in it more!

It could have been Irish or UK somewhere. Many made it here if your garden is in the US.
What would be unusal is your color. If by white you mean milk glas I'd say it's pretty rare. I can't wait for a picture.

I think it would be safe to say the bottle is 100 years old.  Maybe around mid to late 1800's.
