Well, we hit it from about 1:30 til dark. Nothing notable found really. We did dig a tonsiline with the giraffe and a couple of wheeling spring waters. There was a nice zinc lid marked Crown on it. The zinc wasn't too bad. I think we started into a deep privy though. I dug a test hole down below a layer of soft brick and was getting into a dirty smelly clay mixture unlike the clay I hit towards the bottom of most holes there. I probed down more and felt a layer of brick about 3 feet farther down along with some glass. I hope it's the 1870's privy I haven't hit on that lot yet. Here's a pic of the digs

Hey Shag,
Did you get any pics of the lable on that Pitts. beer. It was Duquesne (something) Top. First time I ever saw an Independent Bottle witha lable on it. Does anyone in the forum have an independent with a lable on it? Was it paer or paint, Shag? Oh yeah it was great meeting and learning some new things from you guys. That dig alone makes it all worth coming in this forum everyday. I like to think I became two friens richer yesterdayor should I say on the28th because I haven't gone to bed from the 29th yet.
I have a dig lined up tomorrow across the drive. Wish me luck the hole was only put in in 1905, so I really don't know what to expect. I'm hoping that's where his dad threw all of his oppositions milk bottles when he was picking them up on his route....
By the way, you guys are welcome back anytime! My wife apologizes for the reaming she gave me when we got home lol. She's pretty understanding letting me dig pretty much daily until I go to work.

anyone an entimologist in here? I want to know what kind of spider that is. I've seen a hundred of them in that yard and they are always 2 feet or farther down. I hate spiders !!!

Its good to see the motherload bringing diggers together. I love that tonsiline. I also dug one of those, unfortunately mine is a screw cap. But it does still have the original bakelite cap on it so that's cool. Nice spider and recovery pics. Congrats on a successful dig boys. Swizzle
