Yep, I went to an old site I researched with the intent of metal detecting. Is now remnants in the woods of a cotton mill that was built in 1808. Found a ton of broken glass, took the bottoms home to research them and found them to be early 1900's. Went back today and all I did was dig for bottles. Heck I love anything that's old.
Anyway, I did manage to pull out quite a few old intact bottles. It was a 2 hour outing and I only dug a very small area and only got as far down as maybe a foot.
I'll be hunting this spot for a while now as there's tons more to be found here.
Being new to bottle digging I'm afraid of smashing my shovel through a good one.
Any advise on how to dig as to not break any in the process?
And next time I'll wear gloves as I did slice the tip of my finger, not badly but what would worry me is if there were poison on old poison bottles or would that be washed away by now?

Here's a photo of one of the spots there where I first found hundreds of pieces of broken glass.

Ha! Another one has ventured over to the dark side. :) Be careful, bottle digging is addictive.

Looks like you're into 1930s trash , but that foundation looks ancient, so there are early bottles buried around there somewhere, good luck!

Hit my spot again today since I had the day off from work.
This place is a bottle diggers dream. Spent 3 hours here and most of these were on the surface or at the most 4 to 6 inches deep. Also only spent time around 3 or 4 very small areas and glass is scattered over at least a 1/4 acre.
Most of what I'm finding so far are Hazel-Atlas and Anchor Hocking.
I just need to dig deeper.
