I was able to get a quick dig in yesterday. Due to some recent flooding my favorite dumpsite was tough to dig on top (sticky muddy mess) but much easier to dig through in the actually use layers. Lots of commons came out, but my favorite find of the day was a cool milk glass bottle from Iowa City Iowa (a long ways from home- I dig in the Pacific Northwest). Milk glass bottles are simply cool to begin with, but this one has some impressive embossing on it : Boerner-Fry Co. (Monogram) Iowa City Iowa My research shows that they made a bunch of toiletries, cosmetics in the 1900-1920 timeframe, although I have yet to see this particular bottle anywhere. I did find an unembossed version deep in the bowels of the interweb, and it had some sort of rose cosmetic label. Has anyone else seen this bottle before or know anything else about it?
