Guess it's high time I post some items. It's about 5 degrees here, the ground is frozen SOLID, so there's not much digging to be had. I did spend an hour walking some stream beds today. One stream was particularly warm...a run-off stream from town...makes me wonder what sort of chemicals I was wading in. All I know is that the water was warmer than the 5 degree air. I managed to kick up a plain medicine from the water - early 1900s.
So, I waded into my mess of bottles in the basement and snapped a couple photos.
Here's a few (I found another handful after snapping the picture) little tiny pill bottles and vials. Were pills that small?

I'm working a school dump from the turn of the century, so I'm finding tons of Waterman's Ink and Shaeffer's Skrip, but here are a few inks that are a little different for me. Nothing real old or spectacular, just different, which is nice! The top left is a Sanfords (which I find many of, but not many with this logo), I believe the top middle was a Sanfords as well, Not sure about the blue one - anyone know? The bottom left has no name, just some fancy floral designs, the middle is a Boyer?, and the one on the bottom right is just an unusual shape for me. No igloos, though

Here's one of my favorites from the past month...not sure why, but I think it's really cool. I think it's an old jelly or fruit jar. Could I be right? The neat part is the bottom...

Of course any "non-genuine" bottle could say the same thing!

Ok, one more. I found a mange medicine...haven't found any of those before. And this cottage cheese was quite different from any others...it has a return request on it for 3 cents, like a milk bottle. It was made by Jewell, which was our local milk bottler here.

You're a bum, Gator. I'm excited as all get-out because we might hit 40 here this weekend, and MAYBE my dump will unthaw enough to not have to bring a sledge-hammer and pick-axe! Actually, I was thinking....I should do some sifting when the ground is frozen. Since I can't dig, I can break off the frozen crust on my dirt pile and sift away...hmmm
