Howdy Y'ALL, i have a old Mountain Dew bottle that i found in a shop in Jerome AZ, a few years ago, and i was wondering if anyone could give me any info on it. at this time, i have no way to get a pic of it, so i will describe it the best i can.
The bottle is green with red and white paint. there is a raised ridge about half way on the bottle. at the upper half of the bottle is a hillbilly in a checkered shirt, holding a jug, on both sides of the bottle.
the lower half on the front, it says Mountain Dew, with a pic of a hillbilly pointing a gun at someone int the distance, with what looks to be a pig and turkey, and says "made from flavors specially blended in the trditional hillbilly style" it says 12 fluid ounces at the bottom of the pic.
On the back lowwer half, it is in all white, same hillbilly from the front upper half, with the words "it'll tickle yore innards!" with the regestered trademark symble under it. in smaller letters it says "less than 1/10 of 1% benzoate of soda and u.s certified color added.
on the bottom of the bottle
left is the letters LG, on the right is the numbers 65, and centered under is the numbers 10.
any info would be appreciated, but what i would realy like to know is when was this bottle produced, and is there any value to it.
Thanks Y'ALL

Well I found this same bottle on ebay for $2.00, based on that I would say it would sell from 2-10 dollars. As for the age, if the bottle has a 65 on it, perhaps that is the year it was made, I know soda bottles tend to have the year on them sometimes.

The bottle is certainly collectable. Isn't it funny to see how far Mountain Dew's ad campaign has come. It went from marketing the drink as a hillbilly beverage to an extreme sports "Do the Dew" beverage. Thanks for sharing this bottle with me, I never realized how Mountain Dew originated.

Backatcha cowboynaz. Here's a web site fer ya. www.mountaindewbottles.com I haven't given it a thorough examination, but I did notice a list of the many types of bottles known. There are quite a few variations. If you find any with names on them such as "brewed by Fred and Missy" or "bottled by Ted and Alice", etc. you need to research them. Some of the named ones are quite rare and Mountain Dew collectors will pay $$ for the right ones. Good Luck.
