This is perhaps my favorite bottle - it stands just a hair under 9 7/8" tall. There are seam lines on either side that are diagonal from each other (left/front, right/back) - the seams disappear about 5/8" from the top. What I like most about this one is how it has a darker/deeper color in the center and then lightens toward the sides with infinite gradation. Note the "f holes" and strings embossed into the glass. Cute eh?

Any clues as to the origins and purpose?

I think I just answered my own question.... I looked up Clevenger on Ebay and immediately saw an identical bottle!
