This is for my friends in that frozen wasteland above the Mason and Dixon. We have a yard full so I thought I'd share these w/ yall. I hope you see some soon. I watch the news and see the weather up North where it's 20 below. Hear yall talk about frozen ground. See the beautiful shots of Woodys yard albeit covered in snow [Cobalt your place is killer too.] and wonder what yall do. Tony way up there in Wisconson? I just couldn't imagain going out, but this is not about that. This is about porches and a day in Dixie. [ in the winter ]

My other house had a porch and by gum the new one would too. If I ever got lonely all I had to do was sit on my porch and someone would stop and talk. Sometimes I'd have 10-15 cars in the yard. Now I live a half mile of the road ,but I got my porch. Porches are hard to beat esp. when ya got some fresh oysters and Paula at the grill.

Yes porches are great places for us to pass on sage advice to our young.

Some times you can fling them dogs quite a ways. This game should not be confused w/ Sailcats. Which I'll get into later

Yea we may be a bunch of shoeless hicks sitting on a porch looking at our feet, but I don't have my thermostat set at 62. This my friends is how we spend a winters day in Dixie. Lobey aint ya got some snow to shovel. Please all on your next house build a porch. You won't regret it. You really thought I'd look like Snuffy Smith?

No not really Pat, your lady wouldn't stand for that. Actually I had you pictured as the Grizzly Adams type, pretty close! And yeah I shoveled my butt off last week. More coming this week to  Hips hurt so bad, nearly brought a tear to my sensitive caring face. This is how it works for you boys down there with the sun on your faces. The plows go by your driveway and leave a hard packed, salt treated bank of snow anywhere from knee to hip high. If it's cold and you leave it there a few hours you bess set your mind to workin boy. So you hack it out of there and hope your heart dont stop in mid shovel fling. You go in the house to rest and ponder why that young strong kid of mine is sleeping at 11:30 in the morning. Then you hear the plow go by again and do it all again. Nothing like New England in Febuary. Bud I can't tell you how good that thar porch looks right now!

Bought a couple pork tenderloins (never had much luck with ribs) we're gonna see what we can come up with, with that sauce of yours. Looks delish!
