this is what happens when you dig for many years. Some of these bottles haven't been caressed in years because you can't get to them. These were all dug. He doesn't buy bottles.

He's a cadidate for Dr. Phil or Oprah. That's just too much. When the bottles start to bring down the value of your home it may be time to get rid of a few........hundred

Its funny these pictures are not half of Dougs stuff. Its amazing what you can cram in a big colonial house over 45 years of collecting.

don't get me wrong now that there's impressive. i'd just imagine they lose all meaning in a pile like that. that top display is beautiful, there's some great glass there. The other room's hard to describe. Maybe time to sell a few or give them to the local historical society or library. Split them amoung the grandkids raffle them off and take a trip to Hawaii for a couple of months....Some day, god forbid, he'll pass along and the first one in the house will load them up and sell them off for whatever he/she can get. That's the way of the world

Thats years of digging right there. More than bottles -- those are memories of the old digging days. Would you want someone to down play one of your lifes accomplishments? Your being a negative nancy pants.

Are you guys crazy??? Doug is blessed! He's able to what he loves to do most @ 72.

Sure his floor looks like the bottom of a privy minus the manure! Who has time to sell bottles when there's so much digging to do? You religeous guys should be quiet and leave the judging to the almighty.

Antiquenut.. are you in his will?  If so, what would you do with all those bottles?

Ever notice all those shows on HGTV that go into packrat houses and make you get rid of everything?  They need a show called "Designing for Packrats"... where we get to keep much of our stuff, but display it well.
This, personally, is a little much for me... but I'm not judging anyone else. I get judged enough my my non-packrat friends.
Anyone see the news story on Andy Warhol's junk?

Believe me I'm not putting the guy down, I know the amount of work it took t get those out of the ground and he can probably pick one up and remember the day he found it, but they are just a waste down there. Zoll why don't you go out and pick up a load of lumber and throw up a framed Texture-111 shack for the guy, say 16X20 with plenty of shelves and open up a little museum. Cost you around 1500. Then you can flop down and worship at the temple.
