Ok, I have been posting some heart breakers on another thread and remembered I had this piece that I dug in my father's back yard many year ago. As the exact name is a mystery it seems fitting to put it on "What is it?". This is the only piece I found and the embossing reads "ITTERS" on one side and "PR" on the other. Weren't the bottle gods crewel to be to tease me like this? I think I finally found what bottle this belonged to after going all through Bill Ham's bitters book. But I am not certain. I guess I need to look again....or have one of you guess what it was.

Nice color... Too bad it's broke!

I ain't a bitters person, but I'm gonna disagree with blade... Looks like a Fred to me.

I do not think the PR is part of the word "APRICOT" looking at the embossing seen just to the right of the "R" I'm seeing the start of an "E". Does anyone have the Ring & Ham to see if there are any listed with another word on them that has "PRE" in it...

The area next to the PR...

I did a quick check in Ham's book. The obvious ones with "Pre..." and "Bitters" did not seem to match the most likely shape of my bottle - a cylinder.

Baker's Premium Bitters Richmond VA
J. Prechette Spanish Tonic Bitters
MRS N. A. Prescott's Bitters
Preston's Catholicon or Strengthening Bitters

I wish I could remember where I found what my bottle was. It was either in Ham's or an auction posting. I have a project where I plan to go all through Ham's book, so I will keep an eye out. If anyone else figures it out in the mean time let me know.

I does have the look of a TPM whiskey. Could the "itters" be an unusual coincidence? Maybe it's a Scottish whiskey type thing and not a bitters at all.
Just thinking out loud in text.
The color looks is about apricot to me.

Maybe its "RITTERS" instead of bitters.

Maybe it's Critters, Litters, Titters or Mr. Smithers "The Simpson's" Tonic...
