Hello,
I'm somewhat new to the antique business. I am from WV and the house i reside in is full of old bottles and other antiques. The reason i am writing is to try and establish the manufacturer of this bottle for a more clear listing, as my business partner and I purchase and resell these items. The bottle has an element that i have never experienced before. first the seam goes all the way through the lip, however it stops at the neck and is offset about an 1/4" on both sides before continuing through the lip. Anyways, on the bottom of the bottle is a number 138 and above that is the letter "T" overlapped by an "x" and a dot in the center of the bottom of the bottle. Any help on identifying this manufacturers mark would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Here is a picture of the makers mark.

Welcome Picker.
Photos do help,  but they have to be downsized to fit on here. (Okay - now I see yours). Are there any other markings on the bottle? How about a side view shot? If the bottle is blank except what you see on the bottom, it is not likely to have much re-sale value.

This may have contained peppers or capers or maybe even chemicals. But I have serious doubts that the value could exceed a buck or two. I could be wrong, I guess. Collectors who get a bit jaded at finding too much common stuff would call this a slick - an unembossed bottle. In general, not enough of a link to the original contents or company.

little or no resale value is ok. Just mainly interested in the makers mark. I've dealt with a lot of antique and vintage bottles, researching them and never until now have i come across this mark before. I guess it's more of a curiosity for this one in particular. I very much appreciate the information. Thanks again for your time.

Cool. I'm going to go check out a maker's mark website. I'll report back . . .

Here's where I went. This is a great resource. A cursory glance at maker's marks and I didn't see it though . . .

Thank you so much for trying. I'll probably end up putting the bottle aside for now. In time something will turn up hopefully. I use the page you linked to me, for all my glass maker mark referencing that i don't know off the top of my head, which means quite a lot of referencing :). But that page and a few others for pottery and porcelain are my usual guides. Once again, thank you and have a great day.
