I was digging the other day and got into a hole which contained over 2 dozen whole fruit jars. Most were "BALL", BALL MASON", and "MASONS PATENTNOV. 30th 1858" machine made quarts, and one ground top Mason with the hero's cross embossing. There are four quart jars I was unsure about and need some help in regards to rarity and value, they all appear to be machine made and are various shades of aqua.

First is the square shoulder "MASON'S PATENT NOV. 30th 1858", appears smaller than a quart. Next is only embossed "THE MASON", and one embossed "-ATLAS- MASON'S PATENT", last one is embossed "Everlasting JAR".

I mostly just collect bottles and am totaly clueless when it comes to fruit jars, so any help with information and links to good fruit jar sites would be very appreciated.

The first three are very available in the jar market. Values are only a few dollars each. The Everlasting is a $25. jar when complete with the lid and wire clamp but the missing parts are half of the value. A good site for Ball jars can be found by Googling BALL JAR COLLECTORS SITE.

Thanks for the tips! A few glass closures came out of the hole too, I'll haveto see if I can figure out if any are original to the everlasting. Thanks again!
