Hi Mike.

Can you tell me exactly what the embossing is on your bottle? I found some auction results for Hotchkiss' s sons Saratoga, but there are variations.

Hi Mike. Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I had house guests and we were quite busy doing the " Let' s Tour D.C." shuffle. I found some info on prices from the 1997 edition of " The Auction Price Report" by William Brown. These prices are for a 1/2 pint smooth based bottle embossed as follows: CONGRESS & EMPIRE SPRINGS CO / HOTCHKISS' SONS / CW / NEW YORK / SARATOGA N.Y. The " /" indicates separate lines. There is also an index number (S-14;C) from the book " Collectors' Guide to the Saratoga Type Mineral Water Bottles" by Donald Tucker. Here goes: 1989, olive green, perfect, $319; 1994, olive green, $467; 1994, med. olive green, about perfect, $330; 1994, emerald green, about perfect, $385$; 1995, yellow olive green, perfect, $192; 1995, yellow olive, 1/2" bubble burst at base, $88; 1995, olive green, tiny spider crack in shoulder, $192.50; 1996, deep emerald green, perfect, $467; These prices include the buyers' penalty...oops, " premium" . Your bottle looks olive green in the picture, but whether these auction houses would call it olive yellow or just olive is a mystery to me. If you have a chance, take your bottle to some shows and compare / ask questions. I hope this helps.

Andy

Thanks alot Andy. That was most helpful. I have a friend who used to dig with Ken Aldritch <sp> up around vermont way and he said he had never seen one. Thanks again for the information it was most helpful.
