Hey folks,

I was in a antique shop and buried under a bunch of old tables and junk there was a wood case w/ one of the slats lifted up. I looked under the table and the case was full of these bottles. Full of content ,corked, and tooled top. All of the labels are there but are faded and wore. The packing sawdust or whatever it is all in the case still and caused the labels to fade. They are clear 3 sided bottles w/no embossing on them. The lady said I could have it all at $5 a bottle. The case is dirty but I beleive it would clean up nicely. There are a lot of bottles in there , maybe 25 to 30, maybe more. At $5 a bottle is this something you would buy or is it something you would leave alone? The oil has'nt gummed up at all it is just like the day it was bottled. I think it would make for a nice display. What do ya think?

Since the bottles are not embossed, thier main value is the labels. People buying un-embossed labelled bottles want the label to be in good shape.
If the one in your photo is a typical one, I dont think I would pay more than $1 each for them.  Even then you may not be able to get rid of them all individualy . Might sell better as the complete set.
There are a few sewing machine collectors and oil collectors out there that would buy them  Not a huge market i would guess.

The value here is probably the crate.  Can you post a picture of that?  If all the labels are like the one your showing, I'd offer a couple bucks a piece, crate included, all she could do is say no.

Thank You all for the advice!!

If I ever end up over that way again I will make her a lowball offer for the cratefull. Sounds like it's not worth the drive to make any offer really.

               Thanks Again, Twig.
