I was in a local shop and noticed a torpedo shaped bottle sitting on a shelf, not for sell and asked if he'd be willing to part with it. He asked me how much would I offer and I said $10.00 and he sold it to me. On the bottom of this old, greenish colored glass, torpedo shaped bottle is an "A A & co" and the number "598". Is anyone familiar with this bottle?

Hey Mac and Katina,

This is where some photos would come in real handy. Your description is not telling us a great deal. Your "Torpedo" may be someone's "Round Bottom."

That is a very common bottle, often found by divers. They were imported en masse from England, where it was likely made, and held ginger ale or mineral water, I believe. Probably dates to right around 1915. Still cool lookin'!

Hello Mac & Katina,

It looks like it is a crown topped, ten pin to me.

The A.A. & Co. mark is, I believe, for Alfred Alexander & Co. of London and several other British cities.

"Alfred Alexander & Co Southwick Sunderland & Blaydon 1886 - 1921" From.

You might consider the renowned CHUCKLES' CLEANING METHOD.
