New Years Eve Dig - 12/31/2006 5:20:20 PM    zanes_antiques Posts: 2027 Joined: 9/3/2006 From: Steubenville, Ohio Status: offline Me and CraigC90 found a privy this morning. Strange size though 2feet x 6 feet and filled to the top with water.After bailing awhile we were able to get her all dug. Funny thing is, we only found one unembossed med. in the use layer. The few things we did find were in the fill above the cap. So, really all we needed to dig was the first 18". I'm sure he'll post the pic of the grouping. My take was this nice clear, embossed, blown in mold druggist from Pittsburgh. It reads; "DILWORTH BROTHERS CO. / PITTSBURG, PA.". Notice Pittsburg without the "H". There was a period of time that the city had dropped the "H" from it's spelling. This is from that period. I'd apprecciate any info on this bottle. It's interesting that they were grocers and not pharmacists.
