Made a trip to New York state in November.  Two bad colds, an early blizzard and more dug holes than expected resulted in fewer bottles than we hoped for.  Did get into some early stuff that was fun but not real productive.  Did find an NY York med that came out of an early hole.. The newer stuff was 50's and probably went back to the 30's or 20's.  Anybody hear of this one Hart 173 Broadway NY.  Clear glass solid rod pontil and an outward rolled lip?

Nice bottles! I like every one of them. Except that pontiled NY med, everyone knows those are junk. Send it my way and I'll dispose of it properly. Things like that should only be handled by professional bottle destroyers such as myself.

I would have gladly sent it to you for proper disposal, unfortunately I did not get it in the split.

The Hart's was a vegetable hair oil made by H C Hart , a perfumer.
A pretty early bottle from the 1830s

We made our first tip to Newburgh, Waterford, Watervliet, Albany, and others, back in the '70s. Quite a haul. Pits everywhere. I got a nearly complete Townsend's collection from those digs.

Nice piece, the top is very similar.  All of the bases were pattern molded type.

When we first drove into the City and went to Brooklyn we encountered a bunch of dudes who had stolen a new Firebird from a dealer lot and were stripping it behind some abandoned row houses. We didn't care what the hay they were doin', all we cared about was probing. They scattered like rats, but soon returned when they knew we weren't cops. Bad dudes, but cool to us.

Albany was another gang banger town, even back then. Scarred up black dudes, but they didn't bother us diggers, just came to see what was up. I walked down to a neighborhood church where they were selling fried chicken and pies and stuff and bought enough for everyone. We were IN. Empty row houses with 5' deep privies, not like the Brooklyn Bombers. Lotta "Skwaat" beers and sodas, OP meds, inks, etc.

I always want to do better too, I figured it was 2 or 3 pits, which would be pretty decent, 12 pits is a lot of digging, but pretty normal Id say still
