Hey I'm back with a new bottle I found at a flea market. It's 7-Up and has the slogan "You Like It, It Likes You", which, according to Wikipedia was used between 1936-52. It looks pretty new for a bottle that old. It says on the bottom "787 NW 66 NOT TO BE REFILLED 3", with the three being above the refilling part. Any way I could figure out when it was made (or, gasp, a reproduction)?

Hey Chris,

Welcome back. Whycome no photos?

I think the slogan was used through at least 1968, if not longer Couldn't find the supposed '52 cutoff date via wiki-7up.

"Back label #6 was apparently used for the entire life of non- swimsuit bottles, 1953 to ca. 1968. I have observed the labels on bottles from 1955 to 1964." From Bill Lockhart.

If I were betting, and your transcription is accurate, I'd say 1966.

Well, the thing is, it doesn't have red or white on it, it's just a green bottle, the one in my picture below.

Hey Chris,

This is why photos are helpful. That's an NDNR, and if there's a date code amongst the numbers I'm guessing it's '78.

You might post this in the Soda section for better, more knowledgeable responses.

I thought this was a call to form a new bottle gang. We could go around and brandish broken slicks, threatening people who don't let us look under their porch or poke around their backyard. Yaaaarrr, beware the Bottle Gang!--Joe
