Jugs without a company name debossed on them or peoples names and/or dates scratched on them are tough to research.I found one similar in make to yours,only it has a 'hutch' kind of lip on it.I can`t tell how big yours is.Mine is about a quart although I can get 36 oz.in it and a quart is 32 oz.The closest I came was some Vermont scratch jugs that were dated 1870`s when I Googled "little brown jug".Without anything on it to go by,I guess the age and origin will always be a mystery to me. I hope you don`t mind that I post a pic. for comparison.Good luck.They are both very nice pieces!
