First off, I want to say thanks for being here. Secondly, I look forward to learning from all of you and the board.
That said, I started collecting bottles about two months ago. In the day and age of disposable soda bottles, milk bottles, I was looking for something with a bit more substance and history. Ebay is the devil's abode. While brousing for hobbleskirt coke bottles, I bumped into a few bottles I really liked the look of. Turns out they are called hutchinson soda bottles. Anyway, within the past couple months I have picked up both Markota books (I live and collect San Francisco soda bottles) and these:

oops! files too big. img not accepted from photobucket, either....lol
okay, I'll upload some pics when I figure out how!

stay tuned.

Hello Matt,

Welcome to the A-BN.

We have a bit of a learning curve on the picture thing. If you sandwich your photobucket image code between a coupl'a these guys; [image]your code here[/image] you should see something picturewise.

Ah, the joys of the stout and stocky Hutchinson. You may already be a goner vis-a-vis this glass collecting.

I think I am a goner! LOL
I love these things. Love the history, etc. The Markota books were prob my best investment. Some local collectors had an extra copy of each book. Without them I would be lost. Too bad these are out ofprint! Was thinking about transcribing the whole book or scanning them and having them rebound to preserve their hard work.
IDk.
Anyway, I appreciate the warm welcomes!

You ain't spammin' with pics of such nice bottles! Post away! I love that fish embossed hutch. Looks early, almost like a Gravitating bottle.

Yeah, that fish one is my favorite, too. It's Brieg& Bauer SF (1890-1892). They were located on Folsom Street here in SF (according to Markota).
